e-Government

Interactive Broadband represents one of the best new opportunities to reach citizens for a large number of services, such as:

  • Interactive services that require information to be transmitted, forms filled in, etc.
  • Interactive services currently done by telephone.
  • Allowing users to build and man their own services.
  • Putting data online for users to access and tag it to outside sites.

In the UK, the Inland Revenue and NHS direct are good examples of this trend already, but full video, webservices and the use of social nets promises a large increase in service capability by allowing many more services to be delivered at home via chat/webcam style videoconferencing and VoIP based calling.

We have worked with the European Parliament to help them use broadband technology to increase their exposure. This is particularly challenging as they are seen as remote from their electorates, both physically and politically. They need to communicate complex political messages to the European public in the 20 official languages and do it within a moderate budget.
